Different materials used for signs

Here at Visual Impact, we get many different customers who enquire as to what our signs are made of, however, there is no straight answer when it comes to sign materials. We assess the area where the sign will go, whether it’ll be an outdoor or an indoor sign and therefore make a substantiated judgement for which material will provide the customer with the best results.

Acrylic

Acrylic is widely used in sign making due to its tough properties. It is often used as an alternative to glass due to its transparency and durability. It is particularly desirable by companies for their signs due to its smooth finish and is versatile for both outdoor and indoor signs. Acrylic signs also have the advantage of being able to withstand various weather conditions, meaning they can last a longer period of time than other plastics. Acrylic is perhaps the most popular plastic in sign making due to its versatility and the ability to be illuminated.

Aluminium Composite

Aluminium composite signs are lightweight, highly durable and a great alternative to aluminium due to being more cost effective. Signs made using aluminium composite can be used both indoors and outdoors and are incredibly versatile, as it’s easy to create different shapes to enhance individuality. These signs can come in a variety of different colour, and can have both matt and gloss finishes, which again ensures individuality for our customers signs.

Foam Signs

Foam signs are perfect if you’re looking to attend trade shows, or looking for a sign that will be moved around often. These are the ideal option if the sign you’re looking for is temporary (i.e. to advertise an upcoming event in the area) as they’re cost effective, whilst still emphasizing your business in a great way.
